Every organization has a story.

Ours began in 2005 with a simple question: could continuing education be delivered differently?

At the time, the idea of online learning was still unfamiliar to many professionals. Most continuing medical and dental education programmes required delegates to travel to a specific location, attend lectures in person, and return home. We believed there was another way.

NEI Conferences was founded by a dental surgeon, a psychiatrist, and a law graduate who shared a common interest in education and innovation. Together, they developed a model that combined accredited continuing medical and dental education with the flexibility to learn while travelling.

What began as a single idea evolved into one of the earliest travel-based continuing medical and dental education platforms, allowing healthcare professionals to select educational programmes that aligned with their schedules, interests, and destinations.

Since 2005, thousands of delegates have participated in NEI programmes around the world.

The profession has changed.

Technology has changed.

The way people learn has changed.

We have changed too.

Today, NEI Conferences continues to evolve through travel-based continuing medical and dental education, online learning opportunities, and small interdisciplinary forums designed to encourage meaningful professional exchange.

Travel & Learn: The Original Idea.

In 2005, flexible online learning was still in its infancy. Most continuing medical and dental education programmes required delegates to travel to a specific venue, attend scheduled lectures, and return home.

NEI Conferences introduced a different approach.

By integrating accredited continuing medical and dental education into travel, delegates gained greater flexibility in how and where they learned. Educational opportunities became part of existing travel plans rather than requiring travel solely for education.

The goal was simple: make continuing medical and dental education more accessible, more flexible, and better aligned with the realities of professional life.

Rather than asking clinicians to travel for education, Travel & Learn integrated learning into travel they were already planning.

Interdisciplinary CME: Continuing to Evolve

What began as a travel-based continuing medical and dental education model continued to evolve.

As technology advanced and professional schedules became increasingly demanding, healthcare professionals sought greater flexibility in how they accessed continuing medical and dental education. NEI Conferences adapted alongside those changes, expanding educational opportunities while remaining committed to accredited learning.

The educational philosophy continued to evolve.

Over time, it became clear that some of the most valuable learning occurred not only through lectures, but through conversation. Professionals from different disciplines often approached the same clinical challenge from entirely different perspectives, creating opportunities for meaningful discussion and shared learning.

This insight became the foundation of NEI’s interdisciplinary forums.

As our interdisciplinary forum model has evolved, so too has the way we develop each discussion.

Rather than beginning with a topic and then inviting speakers, we begin with a clinician whose way of thinking encourages others to see familiar problems from a different perspective.

From there, the discussion takes shape. Participants are selected to expand that conversation, not simply to represent different specialties.

That is why no two NEI interdisciplinary forums are ever the same.

Today, these small discussion-based forums bring together clinicians from diverse backgrounds to explore complex clinical questions, exchange ideas, and learn from one another through thoughtful dialogue and professional collaboration.

While the formats have evolved over the years, one principle has remained consistent:

Education should be flexible, relevant, and accessible to the professionals it serves.

NEI Conferences continues to explore new ways to connect learning, travel, and professional exchange, building upon the same spirit of innovation that inspired the organization from the beginning.

This is not a company that appeared overnight.

It is the result of more than twenty years of innovation in continuing medical and dental education.
